About Us

Worship at Mountainside

From its inception, Mountainside has intentionally been a contemporary worship church. That can mean lots of things, but what you will find when you join us is a service that seeks to meet people where they are, sermons that encourage us in the faith, and music that will keep you humming all afternoon long. We utilize technology to enhance our worship experience through videos, movie clips, and other experiential tools that aid to draw us into the message for that day. Dress is casual and comfortable…we even encourage to carry your coffee with you as you enter the worship space. Our services are streamed weekly on Facebook Live on our Facebook page. Join us at 9:30am if you are traveling or unable to be with us in person.

Our Vision, Mission, & Beliefs

Our vision is to create vital congregations that make disciples of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to equip our disciples to transform lives, communities, and the world with excellence and passion. Our mission is to help people.

Our Vision:

“A Church seeking after God’s own Heart”

Our Mission:

“To build the kingdom of God by connecting people to the love of Christ and engaging them in the mission field.”

We will connect people to
the love of Christ through
the HEART.

Hear  the Good News of the Gospel by connecting people to the love of Christ through passionate worship.

Experience  the grace of God by connecting people to the love of Christ through radical hospitality.

Act  and mature in Faith by connecting the community of faith to a lifestyle of discipleship and ministry.

Reach  out in love by connecting the congregation to the mission field.

Tell  the gospel story by connecting others to the love of Jesus Christ by sharing our own God story.

The  Methodist Church’s roots go back over 200 years. We are Christians and we hold the same basic beliefs as all Christians.

We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is alive and active in our world, that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, and that the Holy Spirit dwells within us as our guide.

We believe that every person needs God’s saving grace in their lives. We believe this salvation and redemption come through faith in Jesus Christ, not through anything we do ourselves. We believe that all persons who put their trust in Jesus are made new and transformed.

We believe in the power of scripture as the primary rule and guide for our lives. We believe that we are part of Christ’s universal church with all fellow believers. With other Christians, we believe that Holy Communion and Baptism are sacraments, through which God’s grace is received in particularly powerful ways.

We Believe:

  • People matter to God.
  • People are created to be in a relationship with God.
  • People receive grace & strength for living through the Christian faith.
  • Power for living comes through Prayer, Worship, & Serving God.
  • The Bible directs & guides us on how to live fully.
  • God gives each person special gifts to help the world.
  • Real Christian living is never static, but always vibrant & growing.

The Origin of Mountainside Church

Mountainside is a great place to learn about the Gospel, to worship our God, to develop Christ-centered relationships, to study and grow as followers of Jesus Christ, and to impact our community and our world in a powerful and positive way. Come and join us. You will find a warm and welcoming group of people, many worship options, lots of small groups, a great place for kids and youth. Overall, Mountainside is a great place to make your home.

Mountainside Church was launched on Easter Sunday, April 1999, as a contemporary United Methodist Church with a desire to reach out to those in need of God’s love and grace. Our first four years were spent meeting in a local community center. Then, as ministries developed and lives were transformed, we were able to keep growing.

Mountainside Church Today

In the fall of 2002, God blessed our young faith-filled community with the completed construction of a new home at 301 Elcano Drive—where we remain today. We want to meet people where they are, so our environment encourages a “come as you are” welcome. Our services are designed to be contemporary, upbeat and relevant. We believe that there is a place for you at Mountainside.

Mountainside doesn’t just happen week-to-week. It’s built and accomplished by everyday people who desire to see “all people find new life in Christ”.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

This team is comprised of members who are committed to leading Mountainside into the future, being mindful of what it means to support a congregation through prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Our Leadership Team meetings are about loving Christ and our call to be the church, learning to be faithful not only in our faith but our leadership as well, and leading the church to be a vital congregation that seeks to live out our mission and vision of being a church seeking after God’s own heart.
