God Sense

“God Sense”

I am fascinated about the state of the world today.  Wars, rumors of wars, threats of wars, earthquakes, flood, pandemics, and the list goes on and on.  And this aforementioned list doesn’t even cover the upheaval in our society when it comes to pronouns, sexes, genders, and the like.  I truly believe things have gotten out of hand, and am just wondering how much more God is going to allow before He intervenes in a way some will frankly be surprised by.  Why do I say surprised?  If you encounter an unknown source or energy, are you not surprised?  Some people do not even put forth the effort to know, learn, or even acknowledge the Creator of the universe!

Allow me to ask a question.  I do not mean to offend anyone by it, so here it is.  When is the gender or sex of a baby determined?  Some say gender is assigned at birth.  I disagree.  The gender of a baby is announced at the moment of birth by the attending physician or should I say, “delivery person?”  The sex or gender of a baby is determined at the moment of conception when the chromosomes from the mother and the father unite to form a zygote, or in less technical terms and ovum.  This is a scientific fact; one that cannot be disputed.

Children question everything.  It seems their favorite word is “Why?”  In essence, however, this is an indication they want to know more, and therefore learn.  Common sense is something we develop through the application of our learning facts.  Thomas Payne wrote in his book “Common Sense,” released on January 10, 1776, “"In the following pages I offer nothing more than simple facts, plain arguments and common sense.”  Would such a book sell today?  Imagine a book of simple facts, plain arguments and common sense printed today.  With all the turmoil in our world, the avowed fluidity of genders, the changing of genders, I venture to say the book would gather dust on the bookstore shelves.

Here is a non-disputable fact, according to my source, the Holy Bible.  Genesis 1:26, 27 says, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; ……So God created humankind in His image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them” (NRSV).  God didn’t make us like Mr. Potato Head with interchangeable parts.  If he would have, I’d be searching for another nose!  All kidding aside, God made us special.  Each of us is uniquely different.  Sure, we may look similar, but genetically we are one of a kind in God’s eyes!

When we look at a painting by Vincent Van Gogh, do try to add to his masterpiece or question why he painted in such a way?  Why then do we look at the masterpiece, the pinnacle of all creation and say God didn’t get it right?  Some who question God’s work and God’s Holy Word are in for soul shaking one day.  Trust in God.  Believe in His Word.  That is what I call “God Sense.”
