MEET OUR LEADERSHIP

Reverend Doug Walker embodies the role of a teacher rather than a preacher, drawing upon his extensive life experience to illuminate the teachings of Jesus Christ in a relatable and insightful manner. His path to ministry was unconventional, as he received the calling later in life after a distinguished 27-year military career that included two combat deployments to the Middle East. These formative experiences provided Rev. Walker with a unique cultural lens through which to interpret and convey the historical context of Christ's life and times, bringing the ancient scriptures to life for modern audiences. Beyond his military service, Rev. Walker's diverse professional background spans academia and public service, with roles as a university professor and high-level state government executive. This multifaceted career trajectory has honed his God-given spiritual gifts of teaching and administration, equipping him with the skills to effectively communicate complex theological concepts and deftly manage the day-to-day operations of the church. Rev. Walker's passion for teaching the Word of God is evident in his meticulous preparation for each sermon, as he devotes significant time and energy to researching and crafting messages that resonate with his congregation on a deep, personal level. Through his engaging and enlightening teachings, Rev. Walker serves as a guiding light for his flock, helping them navigate life's challenges and grow in their faith.
